First New Zealand Y.M.C.A.

AUCKLANDEE IN CHABGE. (From Official N.Z. War Correspondent.) (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 4. The London centre of the New Zealand Y.M.U.A. was opened 'by the High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, who paid a tribute to the generosity of the London. Midland and Scottish* railway owner*, in making available a building, which was leased for a peppercorn rental. Disclaiming thanks, Mr. Ash ton Davies. vice-president of the London. Midland and Scottish Railway, said: '"We are all engaged in one task, every son of the Mother Country and every son of the Dominions. AAV are all out to do our best."' Sir Henry McMahon. Y.M.C.A. president, extended the pood wishes of the British Y.M.C.A. The Bishop of Waiapu. the Kt. Rev. G. V. Gerard, the senior New Zealand chaplain, dedicated the building in prayer.
Mr. K. W. Gunson, formerly of Auckland, has undertaken the honorary management of the centre, and is * being assisted by a volunteer staff of former New Zealand ladies.
