CHRISTCHURCH, Thureday
"You have already been given six months to punish you for the same offence, so we will make it 12 this time," said Mr. E. C. Lewey, S.M to JeoSrey Francis Evan* Turner, who was charged with an attempted escape from Paparua prison.
Prison Superintendent Spittal said that Turner had been transferred to lajiania from the Invercargill Borstal Institute last October and several times had tried to escape. An instrument had been discovered in his cell, and one bar was found to be almost severed. He had esea|>ed from Invercargill oii two occasions and been given five years in Borstal with an additional year for the next escape.
To-day's sentence k to be concurrent with that he is already serving.
