SECRET SESSION.
N.Z. PARLIAMENT.
INTERNATIONAL EVENTS. OPPORTUNITY FOR REVIEW. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Government considers it necessary to hold another secret session on Tuesday evening, the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, stated in the House of Representatives to-day. Developments in the international situation made it advisable to give members a further opportunity of reviewing the whole position, getting all the facts short of those secret matters not in the Empire's interest to disclose, and to consider potential developments.
Apart from his own statement to the secret session. Mr. Fraser said there would be no necessity for Ministers to make long statements, but they would be available to give information and answer questions, and the committee method of procedure, with its opportunity to members to make several short speeches, would be desirable at another stage of proceedings.
Mr. Fraeer declared that he was very grateful to all sections of the Houso for the support which had 'been given in connection with the war effort, and the sense of responsibility which had been shown. As for the information it, was not desirable to mention in the general discussion at the secret session, he explained it would be available to three responsible members nominated by the Opposition.
