OBITUARY.

I MR. JAMES DICKISON.

The death has occurred of Mr. James Dickison, of Selwyn Road, Epsom, aged . 69, a former superintendent of the • Auckland Prison. Formerly a member of the New Zealand Permanent Artil- ; lery, he transferred to the prison service, and before coming to Auckland was for . a number of years chief warder at the I Invercargill Borstal Institution. Later Ihe was responsible for organising and 1 supervising the road making camp on I'angitoto island. Mr. Dickison was respect-ed as a capable officer who took ■ a genuine interest in the men under his J charge. He retired four years ago. Mr. Dickison was a member of the I United Service Lodge of Freemasons and . also a member of the Carlton Bowling Club. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
