NORTHCOTE WOMEN.

The president, Mre. W. E. Carter, presided at the meeting of the Northcote Women's Progressive League. It was reported the street collection in Northcote for the Sick and Wounded Fund had yielded £36, and the concert, £49. Mrs. H. Cadness, secretary of the Northcote Red Croes Branch, advised that the women of Northcote had kuitted 167 pairs of sox, 28 pairs of mittene, 40 pairs of gloves and 145 balaclavas. The Borough Council invited the cooperation of the members in compiling a register in connection with emergency precautions.
