LADY GALWAY GUILD.
BIRKENHBAD BRANCH.
At a well-attended meeting held it the Zion Hill Hall it was decided to form a Birkenhead branch of the Lady Gal way Guild, In the absence of the Mayor, Mr. E. J. Osborne, the deputyMayor, A. Hadfield, presided. A committee was formed and the collecting, making and knitting of garments for refugees now in Great Britain is to commence immediately. It was decided to organise a house-to-house collection in the borough on July 6, and the eewing committee, under the supervision of Mrs. E. J. Osborne, will meet every Monday in the Parish Hall.
MOUNT EDEN BRANCH. A large number of ladies assembled in the Centennial Rooms, Stokes' Road, Mount Eden, in order to organise the work of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild. Various matters were discussed, and it was finally decided that a series of eewing circles should be held to condition all materials sent in. A central executive committee was formed to distribute clothing, also to receive and classify goods when returned. In order to eecure materials a house-to-house collection will be made by local scout* on Saturday morning next, when it is hoped that a good supply of materials will be made available.
