BILLIARDS.
The Auckland provincial open billiard* championship tourney was continued yesterday. In the afternoon G. llatcliffe beat I'. Bnx by three points after being 50 behind at the 100 mark. Best breaks:—Ratcllffe: •JO, 30, -K>, 25, 27, 50. Bax: 30, 23, 41, 35, 20, 25. ' There was a large attendance at the evening session when R. Carrlek, the present New Zealand amateur champion, defeated G. Lamb by 500 points to 338. Breaks were : —Carrick : 34, 24, 21, 58, 55, <i 0 and 41. Lamb: 22, 35, 27, 26 and 24.
