STOREMEN'S PAY.

INCREASE IN NEW AWAJRD. Storemen and packers will receive an increase of 5/ a week for ordinary workers and 2d an hour for casual workers under a new award to operate from July (8 for one year. The casual rate is 2/6 ian hour, and the wage for adult workers £4 15/ a week, head storemen in charge of two or more .workers to be paid 10/ more, and if supervising over I five workers 20/ more.

The employers' representative on the Court, Mr. W. Cecil Prime, dissented the increase.

A separate award, operating over the jsame period, was made for oil-stores, in iwhieh the casual rate is 2/6 per hour, jand adult storemen's wages £4 16/8 for jordinary and £4 19/2 for leading hand*. Watchmen are to get £5 2/6. An allowance of 3d an hour for dirt money ie fixed.
