Votes of interest to the Auckland district in the Public Works Estimates tabled in the House of Representatives last night, together with the Budget, include public buildings as follow: —

Ruakura research station, £10,000; Ngongotaha Valley hatchery, Rotorua, and game farm residence, £1950; Auckland Magistrate's Court alterations, £2000; Helensville courthouse, £1700; Whangarei courthouse, £20,000; Auckland prison cool room and laundry, £1500.

For police stations tlie following votes are made:—Auckland Central, £2000; Glen Eden, £1850; Mission Bay, £2080; Mount Eden residence, £1600; Ponsonby offices, £2000; St. Helier's Bay, £2120; Takapuna offices and residence, £500; Cambridge, £1800; Hunterville, £1800; Rotorua, £5000; Te Awamutu, £1250; Waiheke Island, £1500; Whanarei, £1000. Post and Telegraph. Post and Telegraph votes for buildings include:—Auckland additions, £40,000; Newmarket store and workshop additions, £15,000; Auckland alterations, £8000; Ponsonby automatic exchange additions, £4825; St. Helier's automatic exchange, £4000; Mount Albert automatic exchange, £4000; Devon port automatic exchange, £1600; Avondale automatic exchange, £750; Dominion Road additions, £665; Newmarket store site, £500; Point Chevalier building and site, £450; Dargaville additions, £970; Helensville additions, £700; Howick additions, £700; Huntly additions, £1300; additions to Onehunga automatic exchange, £2400; additions and site extension, at Otahuhu, £800; P&pakura military camp, £3000; Pukekohe, £5750; Te Aroha additions, £4000; Te Kuiti, £5000.

Auckland Mental Hospital buildings are voted £10,430, and Kingseat Hospital £57,730, including £30,000 for a nurses' home.

Under the vote for health and hospital institutions St. Helens Hospital is voted £8350, including £3000 for the purchase of & site.

Railway construction rotes include:— Dargaville branch, £40,000; PaeroaPokeno, £40,000; Taneatua-Opotiki, £2000.

Lighthouse and harbour works include:—Great Barrier, automatic light on False Head, £1540; Great Barrier Island wharf, Okupu, £950; Te Kopuru wharf, £1015; and Kawhia harbour wharf, £5000. Tourist Resorts. On account for the development of tourist resorts the Chateau Tongariro is voted £2800, Rotorua £20,000, including £8500 for pipe line and reservoir and £8000 for electrical works and telephone line.
