EMPIRE TITLE BOUT. KATAN CHALLENGES HcCREADY. j i Having previously held Earl McCready, Empire champion, to u draw in Wellington, John Kutan will meet him again on Saturday night at the Auckland Town Hall iu a challenge for the title. Katan's effort against McCready in Wellington was regarded as giving the champion one of the closest calls he has ever had. It will be recalled that Katan is one of the. few men who have beaten McCready, having done s« before the latter took the championship from Jack Taylor and it is evident that the repeating of the effort this year is well within Katan's capabilities. A Press Association message from Chrietchureh stated that Katan (Canada) beat O'Connor (Tennessee) by one fall in a professional wrestling match there last evening. Katan took his fall in the sixth round. After O'Connor ha.l come in with a flying tackle Katan pinned him with a body-preus Contests selected to precede the professional wrestling match to be staged in the Town Hall on Saturday next:—B Waugh, $).9 (Surrey), v.
