SOCCER PROBLEM.
CUPS AND CHAMPIONSHIP. COMBINED FIXTURES IF TWO ROUNDS PLATED.
At last night's meeting of the control board of the Auckland Football Association the senior division committee reported that it was the desire of the first division clubs that two rounds of the championship should be played. At the commencement of the season, when it was agreed to review the position at the end of the firet round, it had been anticipated that 13 teams would be playing. However, as the competition had now been reduced to 10 teams, the same number as last season, the committee was of the opinion that two rounds should be played. The fixtures committee was of the opinion that If this were done it would be impossible to play Chatham Cup and Falcon Cup matches separately, and these fixtures would hare to be combined wlfh championship games. The matter wa« left in the hands of the fixtures and senior division committees. Draw for Auckland series of the Chatham Cup competition :—Y.M.C.A. v. MetroCollege, Comrades v. Ponsonby, Abels v. Thistle, Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys, a bye.. The Judicial committee's finding of suspension for two playing Saturdays and a caution respectively was confirmed in the case of Kerr (Onehunga) and A. Francis (Comrades), who were ordered off last Saturday at Waikaraka Park.
