ALLIED REFUGEES.
LADY GALWAY GUILDS.
EVERY WOMAN CAN HELP,
That every woman in the province now has an opportunity to take. an active part in an outstanding phase of the nation's war effort is stressed by the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council in a memorandum to zone and interzone committees announcing the acceptance of the council's offer to place its organisation at the disposal of the movement headed by Lady Gal »yay to form guilds to provide relief for Allied refugees. Acceptance of the offer, it is stated, also has the effect of making the organisation and control of refugee relief activity throughout the province the exclusive responsibility of the provincial council, working through the guilds which zone executives and inter-zone committees are to appoint.
Zone and inter-zone committees are each asked to appoint a special subcommittee, to be known as the Laely Galway Patriotic Guild, which is to be responsible for the collection of goods and materials and the making up of suitable garments for all classes ot Allied refugees. Wherever possible it is to be arranged that the setting up of the guild should be undertaken in the first instance by the local women's patriotic sub-committee and that new personnel be drawn upon to the fullest extent.
