IMPORT LICENSES.

FOURTH PERIOD. FINAL LODGING DATE. FIXED AT JUNE 30. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Applications for licenses to import goods during the fourth licensing period are to he lodged with the Collectors of Customs not later than June 30, according to an announcement by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, to-day, More than two months had elapsed, said Mr. Nash, since the schedule for the fourth period was promulgated, and this should have afforded importers sufficient time to prepare and - lodge their applications. It watf necessary to determine a final date by which applications should be received, and this had now been fixed at June 30. Licenses issued for the fourth period will be valid for imports up to December 31 next, the date of the expiry of the period.
