PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
OVERSEAS COMMISSIONER. MAJOR F. WAITE APPOINTED. (By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The appointment of Major the Hon. F. Waite, M.L.C., of Balclutha, to be the National Patriotic Fund Board's overseas commissioner was announced last night. Major Waite was. recommended for the position by the board, and Mr.
G. A. Hayden, secretary of the board, stated that advice had been received from the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, that the Government had agreed to the recommendation, and Major Waite's duties will bo to control all activities of the National Patriotij Fund Board with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
