A suggestion that petrol coupons be available for two-monthly periods, made by the South Island Motor Union, is not favoured by the Oil Fuel Controller, Mr. G. L. Laurenson. At a meeting of the executive of the union a reply to the suggestion was received from the controller, who stated that it was felt that the tendency would be to encourage the consumption of petrol, particularly by encouraging longer trips. i
