NEW FIRE ENGINE
. The Devonport Borough Council has received delivery of a new fire engine of the latest type. Yesterday a demonstration of various features- of the machine was given by the fire brigade lo members of the council and the inspector of fire brigades, Mr. R. Girling Butcher. After the machine had been driven on to the wharf, the power pump was operated to show how sea water could be utilised in the event of a shortage of water from the reservoir. The ability of the equipment to increase the flow of water from the mains was also demonstrated.
