LOAN OF £50,000. FOR WAR'S DURATION. SAVING BANK'S DECISION.

At a meeting of the trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank yesterday it was decided to loan to the Government a sum of £50,000, free of interest, for the duration of the war and six months afterwards, to a<sist in the prosecution of the war.

A letter advising the Minister of Finance, tho Hon. W. Nash, of the trustees' decision has been forwarded under yesterday's date by the president of the bank, Mr. E. Anderson.
