In its annual report to the Minister of Education, the Auckland Education Board points out that the general tendency for prices of nearly all materials, consumable or otherwise, used bv manual, technical and agricultural classes, to show appreciable increases, will make difficult the maintenance of supplies at former levels. "These higher costs have ?i«>t tiken effect to a great extent during the past year, but unless increased allowances for incidentals are granted by the Department, it seeins inevitable thit the board must necessarily in the near future reduce supplies of requisites for classes in practical subjects,adds the report.
