WANGANUI TEAM.
PROSPECTS AT HAWERA. AMIGO GALLOPS WKLL. i " (From Our Own Correspondent.) WAXGAXU, Tuesday. Wanganui hoYs-js engaged at tlie H^iiiont mettii:ir include Amijr«>. lJyna.sly. Rehearsal, Homily. Kuatiti. Red Cat and l'uatara. The weather was tine this morning for training operations, tile couise proper, with 111 e nestles out some I.sft, being open. I'he going was on the (lead side. Looking none tno wor.se lor his race at Wuvorley on Saturday, Amigo, with K. Chote i:i the saddle. went six by himself. He was going well within himself over the haif-inile, which took .51 2-is, but ran the last two furlongs in 2.55, making 1.16 2-5 for the full distance. He had his plates on. but it' was a gjod gallop as he was wide out. Despite his defeat at Wavei ley the Beau I'ere gelding is likely to run a good race at Hawera, as the track will be more suitable and he will have 41b less to carry in the Meßae Cup on tlie first day. Dynasty and Rehearsal were companions in a circuit, finishing up by sprining the last three furlongs in .STV&s. Both look in irrcat heart. Rehearsal is to contest the Hawera Handicap on Thursday, and Dynnstv will run in the Tawhiti Hack Handicap. Curtail went half a mile in .525. the first quarter in 2.55. The nvo-ycar-old j Posterity gelding figures in the majden at A wa^uni. Homily (\Y. Rayner) was not asked to do her best in a run over six furlongs, which occupied 1.18 2-5, the first half taking .51 2-ss. She is engaged in the Mcßae Cup at Hawera. and as she usually races well on that track she should be handy with 7.10 on her back. Promenade was sprinted half a mile in .52 l-.55. The Resinous Gelding went a good race in the steeplechase at Waverley, and appears improved by his effort. K. Chote will ride Rehearsal. Homily and Dynasty in their engagements at Hawera. He will also be on Miss Clipper and Boden Park. Tua.tara is said to have gone on the right way since racing at Awapuni, and the Lord Quex gelding should be hard to beat in file Scurry at Hawera as lie is a great beginner. Runtiti i* also. on the improve, and the Limoiv' gelding is expected to show something like his best form at Hawera.
