QUIET MORNING CALL

STEADY TONE PREVAILS. The opening c all of the week at the' Auckland Stock Exchange this morning was quiet, with bidding at the level on ] which last week closed. Aβ was the case last week, a larger number of sellers came forward for gilt-edged Government stocks. New Zealand Insurances showed a firming tendency, with biddere willing to give £3 5/3, and holders at £3 6/, after a sale at £3 5/6. Taupiri Coal also jumped. The sale figure reported this morning was £1 2/. The previous sale was £1 0/6. The Noon Call. In restricted lines the bidding was brisker at the noon call. For Dominion Breweries, buyers are willing to give 6d more at £1 14/, while sellers will do business at 3d less, or £1 14/9.
