FATAL INJURY.
MAORI FOOTBALLER.
NECK BROKEN AT PRACTICE. SECOND OKAIHAU FATALITY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A fatal football accident occurred at Okaihau on Saturday afternoon. While taking part in a practice match sponsored by the local club, a well-known Maori player, Mr. Jimmy Kehea, aged 25, of Okaihau, suffered injuries to hk neck in a heavy fall. He was immediately taken to the Kawakawa Hospital, but he died yesterday morning. Death, it was stated, was due to a broken neck. Xehea's funeral at Waihuii Valley was largely attended.
This is the second fatal football accident oh this lieW. On June 3 last, a young player, Mr. S. H. Jones, eiifTered back injuries from which he later died.
