ROSE GARDENS.
BEAUTIFYING MOUNT EDEN. ABOUT 500 PLANTS. In the near future visitors to Mount Eden will have the opportunity to enjoy what should be among the finest displays of roses in the Dominion. In recent years considerable improvements have been made to the mountain, and at last night's meeting of the borough council tlie parks superintendent, Mr. C. McCormack, reported that good progress had been made in the preparation of a rose garden to the north of tho kiosk. Actually there will be five rose garden*, one 80 yards bv 5 feet and four others each 20 yards square. Some 500 selected roses will be planted. Another improvement on the mountain will be a parking area near the kiosk to accommodate 40 cars.
