CHECK CAUSED BY WAR. AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE REPORT. Regret that through circiwnstances beyond its control its plans for the estail> lishineut of the projected statistical research bureau at the Auckland Hospital had not been realised, was expressed in the report of the executive presented at the annual meeting of the Auckland division of the Xew Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Societj yesterday.

It was also pointed out in the report that, in thus postponing what might be termed detail woi k in favour of lending whole-hearted support to various patriotic efforts, the division nieieh followed the lead of the parent body in England, which had decided to suspend its main activities for the duration of the war. The balance-sheet revealed a credit balance of £ti3B. Assets, comprising debentures and cash on deposit, were shown at £3338. In addition to this the sum of £1650. raised as the result of the street collection, was 'being held in a special account.
