| SUCCESS AS ARTIST. The success of a former art student of the Wellington Technical College, I Miss Klise Mourant. was reported to the Wellington Technical College hoard of governors by the director. Mr. R. (i. Ridling. Mr. Ridling quoted as follows from the "Irish Independent'' of January HO, 11)40, regarding an exhibition of art work by students of the National College of Art. Dublin: —'•One young artist of whom more will he heard is Miss Flifie Mourant. a Xew Zealand girl, who " three studies of scenes in Jersey were bought within a few minutes of the opening of the exhibition. Her pictures have a vouthful vigour together with a mature sense of colour and composition.'' Mr. Kidling said that Mi-f Moment was the daughter of Mr. 11. I'. Mourant. and was up to a short while ago a student of the art school. Here she received her first real tiaining in drawing. painting and design, and it was gratifying to find that success was following from that training.
