NEW OFFICERS.
LABOUR FEDERATION. THE AUCKLAND COUNCIL MR. YOUNG AGAIN PRESIDENT. With few exceptions, last year's officials were returned at tho annual meeting la*t night of the Auckland Council of the Federation of Labour. Mr. F. <:. Yoiin-r. the president, retained his po.-ition l>y a substantial majority, and Mr. W. .I*. I'nthbert. who is president of the Auckland Labour Representation Committee, was again chosen as vice-president.
Voting was on the prcrerent ia] system, and tin , counting of votes for the cxecutive was not concluded until this afternoon. 'J'liis resulted in the return of the ol<l executive, with the exception of Mr. K. Armstrong, who did not go to the ballot after having: liecn nominated. and Mr. J. Liddell, who did not seek re-election.
lii addition to the president and vicepresident, other officers were elected as follows: Secretary, Mr. X. V. Douglas; minute secretary. Mr. ('. (.'handler; national councillor, Mr. F. (I. Young; legislative committee, Messrs. K. Simpson and K. Watson; and executive. Messrs. .7. Mclunarney, V. Hackett, A. S. Herri up, H. Campbell, F. Crni", T. Anderson and \V. Miller. The 'new members of the executive are Messrs. Miller and Herring.
