TRACK GALLOPS.

TRIALS AT TE RAPA. TRILLIARCH'S GOOO FIVE. RACECAMP ALSO IMPRESSES. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HAMILTON, this day. The going on the course proper, 60ft out, was in good order at Te Rapa this morning when several interesting trial* were recorded by houses claiming engagements at Matamata, those to impress most being Trilliarch over five furlongd and Racecainp over a round/ while Ngawiri recorded a fast three. Tosh (McKenzie) was restricted t« strong work and sprinted home over the last furlong. He is bearing an improved nippearance and may soon be seen to auvantage. Karatoki (Gollop) and Acreman (Long) were associated over five in 1.7. Bystander, a three-3-ear-old gelding by Lysander, and a three-year-old tilly by Gay Bachelor. Alias Leslie, ran home from the three in 40s. A useful effort over ax furlongs was credited to Respectful (Hain) and Torch (Winder), ".be former shading his companion in 151 4-5. Respectful i« engaged in the Walton Handicap (seven furlongs and a quarter) at Matamata, and is not without prospects. A smart effort over a round was recorded by Racecamp (Brown), who finished clear of Mio Luine (Main) in 2.7 1-5. While he was carrying only a lightweight, Racecamp shaped impressively and drew attention to his prospects at Matamata by the manner iu which he was levelling in his work over the concluding stages. Ngawiri (Ensor) shaped well over three furlongs in 37 1-ob, time which was not bettered dining the morning. In a similar effort IWeline (Gollop) recorded 39 3-.~>s. There was little between Diversity (Ensor) and Surtoy (Gollop) at the conclusion of six furlongt in 1.22 —a useful effort for hoives of their class. They ran the first quarter in 25 4-ae. and were sticking to their work at the end. The best effort of the morning over a sprint distance was that of Tvilliarcli (Meynell), who beat Cappy (Brown) by three leugtlis in the good time of L 3&. Trilliarch, who staged a return to form at Thames, appears to be definitely 011 the upgrade, and on this morning's showing must be conceded good prospects among the sprinters at Matamata. Sir Lysander (Brown), who is inclined to bore in when galloping left-handed. jumped away between the six and the five-furiong barrier, and on nearing the half mile raa inside the pegs, and in the straight wa* galloping on the rails. Timed from the five furlongs he traversed the distance m 1.3 4-5, after running the first furlong ia ll%s and two in 24%5. Lomacre (Kowhai) was not bustled to come home from the half mile in 55 4-ss. Lomacre is not a good track worker, bnt is looking irelL Australian Star (Brown) ran once round in 2.10. Riding engagements for the Matamata meeting include: —W. O. Ensor: Calorie, Diversity.
