RECKLESS FLYER.
Futile Attack On French Lorry Convoy. RAIDER DRIVEN AWAY. (Received noon.) RUGBY, January 2G. Dispatches from correspondents with the British air forces in France describe an incident to-day indicating greater recklessness on the part of the German Air Force. For the first time since the war began .a German aircraft launched a ground attach in France. A Hcinkel bomber came down and machine-gunned a convoy of French lorries from about 2000 feet. there were no casualties and none of the lorries was hit. The Hcinkel was sighted by three Hurricanes, which drove it oil. This is reported to be the first occasion on which a German bomber of this type has shown itself at such a low altitude. Air battles with German bombers have hitherto been fought mostly between 25,000 and 30,000 feet.
