WAR OBJECTIVE.
World Must Be Freed Of Fear Of Aggression. MR. ERUCE BROADCASTS. British Official Wireless. (Received noon.) RUGBY, .fanuary 20. In a. broadcast on Australia Day, tho Australian High Commissioner in London, Mr. Stanley Bruce, said: "We entered this struggle because Germany, under its present Nazi rulers, having destroyed freedom, justice and decency within its own national borders, was. determined by armed strength to destroy those things in other nations of the world." Tha objective of tlie war. Mr. Bruce continued, was "to defeat Germany and ensure that after victory the world shall be freed from constant fear of aggression." The peace to follow victory had to be based 011 security for all peoples, on equity between nations and on social justice between all classes. Mr. Bruce added: "It would be optimistic folly to imagine that these ends can be accomplished without great endeavour and without men being prepared to adjust their minds to the changcs in international and national life that will be necessary."
