Some residents fleeing for tbeir lives liefore flood waters had also to face hazard* of gales and crocodiles. Crocodiles, leaving the rivers with the floodwuters, threshed round small boat* in which settlers were oscaping and drugged down stock which the settlers were trying t6 save.
