PORT EVACUATED.
PRESSURE Off ESTONIA. LONDON, January 17. The Estonian population of the port of Haltiski. now occupied by the Kus«in tin, ha* been evacuated. The Estonian Minister to Moscow protested against the capture by the Itussian* of the Estonian steamer Vega <400 tons). A Hussiun stibmariiie sank the Estonian passenger steamer Kassaii CUMI tons), as well as several Estonian fishing boats, many member# of the crews at which were drowned or killed by machine-gun Arc.
The Soviet last September forced upon Estonia and Latvia "mutual assistance" and trade pacta, under which the Soviet was given the right to establish naval and air bases at various points on the coasts of the two small Ktntcs.
