EDEN PLAYS MIDDLEMORE

PARNELL GOES TO SHORE.

After a spell of four weeks the Auckland CJricket Association's club competitions wilt be resumed to-morrow. The first grade fixtures are:—

Eden V. Middlemore, Xo. 2, Eden Park. Y.M.C.A. v. Grafton, Xo. 1, Eden Park. 'Varsity v. , Ponsonby-Balmoral, Xo. 3, Eden Park.

Xorth Shore v. Parnell, at Devonport Domain.

The pointe at present are: —Middlemorc 20, Grafton 19. Eden (champion of previous two seasons) 17, Shore and Y.M.C.A. 13, 'Varsity 11, l'onsonby-Balmoral 5, Parnell 4.

Six of the victorious Brabiti Cup team liave been promoted to major status. The captain, Warwick Snedden, is in the 'Varsity eleven; while the junior representative champion left-hander B. Sutclifie Ithe Takapuna Grammar skipper) and B. H. Warner are to play for Parnell. PonsonbyBalmoral will 'have the assistance of W. R. Hownitrec, C. A. Thorn and Alan Wiles - -all of whom were named in -Mr. L. .J. Brabin's prospective New Zealand junior representatives. Two others to go up to senior are Middleniore's youthful wicketkeeper A. -VI.
