WORTH SHORE WATER.
Takapuna is not getting a good advertisement as a to live in. It would be a good'idea if those civic authorities referred to by "H.K.S." eouM 'be publicly compelled to drink from th borough water supply. I strongly <uspeet that the bun yip or some distant relation of the Loch _ Ness monster inhabits the dark and dingy depth# of Lake Pupuke. If someone were to suggest the establishment of a hiewwy in the vicinity of the lake there wouW be such a public outcry that he wooH get a bigger heckling than the pacifilt ß and wotUd require a cordon of police as a bodyguard. Yet nothing is said abotf the pollution of aqua pura, which supplies our first physical needs, except a few indomitable spirits who have courage to persist in drawing public attention to it. Anyway, what is wr<W? with the 400-gallon tank that can colk<t the only chemically pure water known--from the clouds? " J. OEE.
