TRAM SERVICES.
As a resident of Sandringham who j has to rely on the trams as a means jof transport to and from my -work I [ would enter a strong protest at the | very poor service offered this *n«t expanding suburb. In the mnninp, round eight o'clock it is not uncommon to have a ten minutes' wait, and then two cars will come along together, the second being invariably empty. At night the position is much woree, and I regularly wait and watch two or three cars for every suburb go past before one of the most antiquated vehicles in the Transport Board's fleet lumbers no generally with people standing every, where except on the roof. One evening recently while waiting something like 15 minutes at the busy period I counted five Mount Eden-Three Kings cars and a similar number of Balmoral-Mount Roe-kill care, and not on© with people standing, before a Sandringham car with accommodation on the platform only came along. FED IJP.
[Officials of the Auckland Transport Board state that the time-table for the Sandringham district is arranged to meet the transport needs of- that "district, and "when the service warrants it an increased service will be provided. One hundred and two car trips arofvn daily to Sandringham. AM services are based on the needs of transport of the particular district that is served.—rEd.]
