SILVER WEDDINGS.

MR. AND MRS. T. MCCARTHY.

To celebrate the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCarthy, of Takapuna, over 200 guests assembled at St. Michael's HalL Mr. and Mrs. Clarke supplied the music.

Mrs. McCarthy's bridesmaids, Mrs. Skinner and Mrs. Shaw, were the honoured guests. A silver vase was presented to Mrs. McCarthy by the League of" Mothers and Mothers' Union. Dancing was much enjoyed by the guests. Mr. Reg Harvey, Mr. Gordon Kessarl and Mr. Anderson helped with the evening's arrangements.

MR. AND MRS. GEORGE WOOD. The twenty-fifth anniversary of the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. George Wood, of Parnell, was celebrated at the Labour Club, Pacific Building, with a large attendance of friends, including club members. An enjoyable dance was interspersed with musical and elocutionary items. Mr. A. Gilbert was master of ceremonies. The principal toast of the evening 'was proposed by Mr. Charles Morris, who mentioned that the hosts were married at Tooting. Mr. Wood is well known in Auckland, having served the St. John Ambulance Association 'both in New Zealand and England for over 27 yeans.
