McGINTY OUT.

IN SIXTH ROUND. WRESTLING AT TOWN HALL WHN FOR BATHOS PASHA. It was a revival of t'lic old music-hall ilitty "Down Went McGinty" when "Iron Man"' McGinty Ding hud hie colours lowered in a wrestling 'bout at the Town Hall last night with the Turkish exponent, lia.tros I'aeha.. With falls even in the sixth round, McGinfy went through the ropes tiom a jolt to the chin, stretched out, slowly rolled over and went down with a thud off the stage. He did not come back to the ling, but was assisted in a dazed condition to his dressing room. The handsome, -big-chested Turk weighed in at 15.7, and McGinty Ding at 10.2. They o|>ened proceedings warily, and in the first round Batros betrayed a fondness for the short-arm ecineors, with which he tried out the Iron Man's quality of endurance more fhan once to the latter's obvious discomfort. The Turk was equally distressed when McGinty experimented with a painful variety of leg stretch, and went to his corner with a doubting look on hie face after experiencing a spectacular reverse head-t'hrow accompanied by a looping chin jolt just as the gong went. "Turkish Delight." The all-in embellishments of the game came with a rush in the second round when McGinty opened hostilities with the careless use of a knee in an arm-stretch. Batros cut loose with a shower of head jolts. When he added open-handed daps ho was chased out of the ring by McOinty. Here he saluted the crowd a hooting w:tn a Dervish dance of defiance. Next round the rough stuff went on. Ratios yelled vigorously when McGinty, caught a toehold, vigorously knuckled the Turkish hack nerves to get out. Then McGinty, with a lying wi istlock on his opponent, suddenly loosed the grip with an Irish howl of execration and signs to Referee Charlie Pollard that he had been bitten,

or pinched, on a fleshy part of the thigh. The crowd howled in unison and Batros threw himself on the mat and kicked lustily in either Turkish temper or Turkish delight. He added variation to the trimmings at the very outset of the fourth round. Dropped twice by reverse headthrows and simultaneous jolts to the chin, lie suddenly ducked under Mi-Gintys guard to get a crotch hold with Which lie lifted and dumped his opponent heavily, and secured a fall with a body press. Shifting his tactics in the next round McGinty clapped on his special variety of leg stretch with which he had tortured the Turk earlier, and rolled Batros almost to a fall with it. After trying a couple of headlock throws he clapped on the leg splits again and converted the hold into a clamp that brought instant outcries and submission from Batros. They set their best pace in the next round as McGinty tried again for the leg clamp. Batros countered with a wristlock and McGinty, on getting out of it. headlocked Batros out of the ring and followed to push him off the stage. Batros, after getting cautiously hack, returned the compliment, and McG inty's head made heavy contact with the bare boards just outside the ropes. He came back slowly to stagger across the l ing and was sent through the lopes with a jolt to the jaw—and he did not come back. The Preliminaries. Three professional four-round bouts of five minutes each were wrestled as preliminaries. Kisha Buna, ex-amateur bantam champion (7.1'2). beat Rolf Nottingham on points in a lively and scientific bout which was full of action and interest. Rolf Williams (11.0) ami Fred Baker (10.81 wrestled a draw, neither getting a fall V I'urcv (13.12) took a fall and the win off Fred Mmiee (13.12). Carey thoroughly entertained the crowd by his comedy showmanship, interrupted only long enough to catch his opponent off guard in the third round with a quick trip which lie converted into a fall by a I combination leglock anil body press.
