TITLE BOUT OUT MONDAY.
JARVIS CHALLENGES RAYNBR. The New Zealand lightweight title will be at stake on Monday next when Jack Jarvis, of Wellington, meets Clarrie Rayner, ot Blenheim, the present champion, in a title bout of fifteen three-minute rounds. Both fighters have performed consistently well this season, and in view of his recent well merited victories over Billy Aitken and Percy Kelly, Jarvis should provide strong opposition for the champion. A hard, fast punch, a keen eye and plenty of stamina, however, have made Rayrer one of the most difficult fighters in the .Dominion to beat, and in the short time that it took him to dispose of Harry Summers at Auckland last month one sensed that he had plenty in reserve.
An excellent amateur section will feature in support of the main contest. Chief among the amateur bouts is the special six round lightweight contest for the Bridgens Cup. with Harry Mclvor, the Auckland champion, and E. Underwood, of E. Donovan's gymnasium, in the opposite corners of tiie ring. Another bout worth watching should be the contest between lan Clark, of Hamilton, and Jack Jt-ukiu, Auckland champion and runner-up in the New Zealand championships. The dingdong go botween these two keen boxers was one of tlie highlights at the recent Auckland championships.
