FRED HENNEBERRY IN AMERICA.
SEEKS MATCH WITH GARCIA.
The Australian middle-weight boxer Fred Henneberry has arrived in America and ia seeking a match with Ceferino Garcia, states a United Preas Association cable from New York.
Henneberry went to England in the hope of being matched with Jock McAvoy for the British title, but when he had substantiated his claim for a contest the war intervened. Henneberry had three bouts in England. In the first he defeated George Davis, the Southern area champion, in three rounds, in the next, against Dai Jones, he was disqualified in the third round, while finally he defeated Ginger Sadd.
Garcia this month defeated Fred Apostoli in the seventh round of a bout at New York. Apostoli was recognised by the New York State Athletic Commission as the world middle-weight champion. The U.S.A. National Boxing Association, however, recognises A 1 Hostak as the world champion.
