PREPARED TO STRIKE.
Initial Advantage Lay With
Nazis. SUCCESS OF LEAFLET RAID. Rritish Official Wireless. (Received 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, September 15. Commenting on yesterday's statement in both Houses of Parliament on the war situation. Viscount Snell (Labour) said the position of the German submarines indicated that Germany had prepared to strike at a particular time.
''We may think, I hope, that the initial advantage will quickly pass away," he added.
The leaflet raid over Germany, said Lord Sneel, had been so great a success that the German Government, apparently afraid of the truth, had decreed a threat of death for anyone even picking up a leaflet.
The clear vision of the British people had put responsibility for war precisely where it lay—upon the group of adventurers who had obtained power in Germany.
