In the course of a speech the actingLabour Leader, Mr. Arthur (ireenwood. spoke of the part which Parliament must play in the struggle in which the nation is now engaged. A wartime technique must be developed which would maintain Parliament as a living institution. *T believe that in this war the British Parliament will be a hated symbol to Hitler. It will grow in power during this war and not become an atrophied organ of an effete body," he said.
Turning to industry he emphasised the necessity of control of city industries, and. said, that both labour and capital must be properly used.
