LONDON, August 28.
Warsaw reports state that there have been 34 frontier violations by German aeroplanes during the last 24 hours. A German cavalry sergeant who lost his way on patrol duty and went four miles into Polish territory was shot dead.
Poles and Germans exchanged shots at Rydnik, Silesia and a number were wounded on both sides.
The Gestapo (German secret police), in lightning raids in Prague, are reported to have arrested at least 10,000 Czechs.
The Polish spokesman, commenting on atrocity propaganda, declares: "We are powerless against this sort of thing and must protest against the lack of information or misinformation of German Ministers." FRENCH PRECAUTIONS. Newspapers And Wireless To Be Censored. PEACE HANGS BY A THREAD. (Received 10 a.m.) PARIS, August 28. The French Government has issued a new and more urgent- notice to civilians to leave Paris, in the expectancy of a decisive turn in the crisis. Civilians were warned that transportation might soon be restricted. Officials express tlie opinion that peace hangs by a thread. The "Matin" says that censorships of the Press and wireless will be introduced in France to-day. Film stars are hastening across France from the postponed international film festival on their way back to America. Fifty thousand women are standing by in Paris for air raid precaution duties. Horses have been requisitioned. Britens are queueing up at the Embassy to enrol as volunteers. Air France has discontinued the ParisBerlin and other Continental services. NO KNOWLEDGE. Reported Plot Against Life Of Herr Hitler. MINISTRY'S DENIAL. (Received 9.30 a.m.) BERLIN, August 28. The Propaganda Ministry said that it had, no knowledge of the alleged plot on Herr Hitler's life as reported over the Polish radio.
