SEAMAN'S DEATH.
ACCIDENT ON RAN GIT AT A,
The inquest touching the death of Alexander McKenzie, aged 2», a seaman, who died in the Auckland Hospital early yesterday morning as the result of an accident in No. 3 hold of the liner Rangitata at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday, was opened by" the city coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, in the Queen' 3 wharf police station yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was a single man, of London, and wm an A.B. on the Rangitata. The coroner took the evidence of the chief officer and several members of the crew of the liner, whioh left for London early this morning. The coroner adjourned the inquest sine die.
The port chaplain, the Rev. H, K. Vickcrv, will conduct a short service at the Flying Angel Missions to Seaman to-night. The funeral will leave the Mariners' Chapel to-morrow morning. Members of the crew of the Rangitanc will act as pall-bearers.
