MR. W. J. BODEN.

(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WAXGAXUI, Sunday. A former inspector of schools under the Auckland Education Board, Mr. W. J. Boden died in Wanganui to-day after a brief illness. After some years' service in the Auckland district, Mr. Boden was promoted to be «>enior inspector of schools at Xelson in 1935. He was transferred to the Wanganui district in a similar capacity two years and a half ago. Mr. Boden was born at Patumahoe in 18S2 and received his education at the Patumahoe School, the Auckland Grammar School and Auckland University. He commenced his teaching career at W aiokaraka. Thames, transferring to Mahurangi West, Grafton and Grey Lynn. He was appointed headmaster of the Coromandel District High School, Taumarunui District High School and Grey Lynn School successively. Mr. Boden was promoted to inspector in 1926 and after seven years in the Wellington district, came to Auckland at the beginning of 1933.
