Motor Boat Travels At Over 130 Miles Per Hour. * SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL. (Received ll*a.m.) LONDON, August 18. Sir Malcolm Campbell reached an estimated speed of over 110 mites an hour during trials of the motor boat Bluebird 11. on Conistone Lake, Lancashire. The official timekeepers gave Sir Malcolm's one way run at 134 miles an hour. This beat his old record, but does not count as a record because an average of two runs in opposite directions must be taken.
