SUNK SUBMARINE GROUNDED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 18. A Portsmouth (New Hampshire) message states that the ill-fated submarine Squalus, with 36 dead, completed the second stage of its salvage to-day when it was grounded 11 miles from White Island, whither it was towed. The submarine was raised to 80 feet from the surface and will probably be brought to the top for the final tow to dry dock.
