ANNUAL MEETING OPENED.

WELLINGTON, Wednesday,

The annual report of the New Zealand Alliance was opened by the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett. Between 60 and 70 delegates were present, including a specially strong delegation from the King Country.

The annual report stated that the total expenditure on liquor in New Zealand had reached the record level of £9,390,523, with corresponding increased totals jp. offences arising from liquor.
