The committee of the "Gildemeester Action," at Vienna, Avhich is safeguarding interests of Jews, is going to Abyssinia in order to prepare to settle 15,000 Jews, who will be first trained in Homstead camps in Italy. Five colonies in Lake Tana district, accommodating 5,000,000 Jews, may eventually be founded. A Prague message says that Jews will be strictly separated from the Aryan population under police decree, excluding them from restaurants, cafes and public gardens. < "The Times" Shanghai correspondent says that the Municipal Council has announced that no more Jewish refugees will be allowed to land after the arrival of 000 now on the high seas because , Shanghai has already done more than its share. The French concession authorities have announced a similar ban. There are already 18,000 Jews in Shanghai and a further ;3000 are expected before the end of the year. The 000 Jewish refugees on board the i steamer Parita, who arrived at Smyrna j last week, are facing starvation as the result of fruitless efforts to obtain food from friends ashore. The Turks have hardened their attitude as the result of the arrival of five more refugee ships at Fenike, a South Anatolian port. The authorities believe that if kindness were shown it would result in an endless stream of ships arriving at Turkish ports.
RETURN DEMANDED. Slovak Territory C. ied To Poland And Hungary. RIOTS AGAINST JEWS. (Received 12.30 p.m.) BRATISLAVA, August 14. Meetings in East Slovakiau towns demanded the return of territories ceded to Hungary and Poland, also of towns occupied by Hungary. The Propaganda Minister, Mr. Mach, declared the republic's readiness to fight for its brethren across the frontier. The deputy-Premier. M. Tuka. attacked the Czechs for 20 years of exploitation, and declared that the Slovaks would never rejoin them. Further anti-Jewish legislation would be enacted. Anti-Jewish excesses continued during the week-end. Windows were smashed, houses gutted, furniture thrown into the streets and a public kitchen demolished before order could be restored.
