AUCKLAND MISSIONARY AUXILIARY.
The thirty-first annual meeting of the Auckland Methodis-t Women's Missionary Auxiliary was held in the Pitt Street schoolroom yesterday afternoon. Mrs. A. White, president, referred to the recent passing of Mre. H. E. Pacey, who was the first president of the organisation, and members ejood for a few moments in silence as a tribute to her memory. Mrs. Beavis, the general secretary, gave a resume of the branch reports, and Mrs. Brooker, the minutes secretary, gave a report of the year's work of the auxiliary, while Miss Adlington, the treasurer, presented the annual balancesheet. All these reports showed marked progress in missionary enterprise. The membership stood at 858. The income for the year totalled £792. Under Miss E. Reid'e supervision, 20 boxes, valued at £145 11/8, had been forwarded to the workers in the- Western Solomons. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted in the principal executive positions being filled as follows: —President, Mrs. A. White; general secretary, Mrs. B. Beavis; minutes secretary, Mrs. S. W. Brooker; treasurer, Miss E. Adlington. An interesting talk on the work of the deaconesses among the Maori women and children in the backbloeks in North Auckland was given by the Rev. Frank Bateup, from Kaeo. During the afternoon the sacred solo, "Give Thanks and Sing," was eung by Mrs. Carter (Xorthcote branch).
