NEW DIXIELAND.
A large crowd of dancers attended the New Dixieland Cabaret in Upper Queen Street on Saturday evening , . Those who had not already seen Auckland's latest cabaret were thrilled with the modernistic style of the decorations and the excellent music supplied by the Dixieland orchestra. The main feature of the decorations, the bright orange and green curtains, which form an attractive background for the tubbed palms, caused considerable comment, while the overhead canopy of blue and white clouds painted in attractive colours ateo appealed to the dance enthusiasts attending. Barley water is insipid if enoupli lemon juice is not added. Barley water is an excellent summer drink if well flavoured with lemon and eweetened to taste.
