LONGBEACH HANDICAP. MERRY MARCH AT LONG ODDS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRTSTCHURCH, this day. Fine weather favoured the Canterbury Jockey Club for the concluding day of its Grand National meeting at Riccarton to-day. There was a large attendance and the track was fast.

Jenkins* Eighth Winner. Begorrah and Esperance Bay had a great due] in the Styx Hurdles, in which tliev were in front all the way. Chat joined them at the second hurdle, where Bit o' Blue fell, while 111 the Dark had tailed off through a mishap at the first hurdle. Esperance Bay was just in front of Begorrah at the mile post, where Dividend took third place. The two leaders were again on terms a little further on, Newly Rich running up to be fourth, with Last Link and Chat

next. Newly Rich fell on the flat, about half a mile from home, at which stage Dividend was almost on terms with the two leaders. There was not much between the three at the last hurdle, Begorrah drawing away gradually to win by half a length. Dividend tired and was four lengths back. This was Begorrah's second win at the meeting and A. Jenkins' eighth winning mount!

Teak, St. Cloud and Withdrawal showed out early in the first division of the Longbeach Handicap, with Astair-*. Merry March and Montessa also prominent. St. Cloud led on to the course proper, where Aggravate and Kaiwaka also joined in. Kaiwaka was in charge a. hundred yards from the post, but Merry March wore him down, winning by half a head. Donadea finished well to cut Montessa out of third place. Blue Coat, Bex Maitland, Pink Dress and Phenomenal were prominent from the start of the second division. Pheno?nenal was showing the way before the course proper was reached, where Gold Salute was handy, with Lady Tinkle starting to move up. Gold Salute was in front two furlongs from the post, and stalled off a late run by Lady Tinkle easily, while Night Pal, with a late dash on the rails, cut Rex Maitland out of third place.

The Aylesbury. Red Terror and Glenvane were the leaders in the Aylesbury Steeplechase, Red Terror showing the" way over the Kennels double and round to the carriage paddock. Hanover then took the load and Glemane ran into second place out of the straight. Red Terror being third, while Tomcat was trailing off. Uncle Jim moved up into fourth "place along the back, and there was no further change in the order. Hanover beat Glenvane easily, with a gap to Red Terror. Uncle Jim was close up. Pink Robe led King Rev in the early part of the Sydenham Hurdles, with the other pair several lengths back. King Rey joined Pink Robe at the sevenfurlong post, and then drew clear, win e Aussie Ra. although .lumping badh, headed Agog throughout. Over the remainder of the journov Kill" Kev was never troubled and won bv five lengths Aussie Ra wore Pink* Robe down from the last hurdle to train second place by a neck, Agog being a lon way back.
