SLOW TIMES.
HEAVY GOING. GAY MOVIE BEST HALF. The going was heavy on the middle grass track at Takanini this morning on which the fast work was carried out and times were slow. Xamara (Cleaver) and The Dozer (Logan) covercd five furlongs in 1.0. liajanya (Inglis) taking 1.11 3-3 for a similar distance. Orelio (Smith) and Gladynev (Coker) strode over six furlongs in 1.28 3-5, Proud Fox (McMinn) and Sunok (O'Brien) taking 1.30 3-5 for a similar task. Inver (Coleman) had a length's advantage over Te Poto (Parsons) at the end of five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. Flood Tide (Stratton) finished up a useful task by running his last three furlongs in 44 3-5». Tiptoes (Green) completed a mile in 1.57 and Bachelor King (Kingi) was in front of Marie's Acre (Bartle) at the finish of five furlongs in 1.0 3-3. Later Marie's Acre was sent over the same ground with Milanion (Beguley) taking 1.8.
The best half mile of the morning was credited to Guy Movie (Matthews), who recorded 53 l-ss. GlenconneH (Green) impressed more than Noisy Night (Parsons) at the finish of five furlongs in 1.9 4-5. Lovaals (Coleman) traversed three furlongs up the back in 41s, and Silver Glow (Beguley) was clcar of Philcourt (Bartle) at the end of six furlongs, the last fivo in 1.13. Tellsom (Walters) strode over half a mile in 50 2-5s and Vaalastar {■Kingi) and Hunting Bee (Mischcl) took 41 3-5s for three furlongs. Buccaneer (T. Cireen) and High Crown (Spinley) were fining comfortably throughout six furlongs in 1.28, and .Mia Acrea (Parsons) came homo from the half-mile post in 59 3-.*. Flash By (Matthews) was given strong work, traversing his last mile in 1.59 2-5. •lack Tar (Mcllroy) impressed more than Gamos (Fearri) while traversing six furlongs in 1.27 2-5.
